PART 2:

“I was afraid he might not survive, but the doctor shook his head. You have broken hospital rules.” Adora’s voice trembled. Please,  sir. I only wanted to help him. The doctor turned toward the door and called loudly,  “Security!” Two security guards quickly appeared. The doctor  pointed at Adora. This woman is fired immediately.

Adora’s eyes filled with tears. “Sir, please, I need this job.” But the doctor  had already turned away. Within minutes, Adora found herself standing outside the hospital gate. Her job was gone. With nowhere else to go, she slowly began  walking through the streets of Port Harkort. As evening approached, Adora finally reached the small one- room apartment  in a very large compound she rented in a poor area in the city.

She opened the door and stepped inside. The room was quiet. Adora sat down slowly and looked around the small space. Her heart felt heavy because that morning her life had suddenly taken another difficult  turn. 6 months had passed. Inside the same hospital in Port Harort, the man whose life Adora had saved sat quietly on a chair inside a  doctor’s office.

3 months earlier, he had finally woken up after the frightening collapse  that almost took his life. Since then, the doctors had asked him to return to the hospital from time to time for routine medical checkups. That morning was one of those visits. The doctor walked into the office with a file in his hand. He looked at the results and smiled. “Well, Mr.

Babau,” the doctor said.  “Your test results look very good. Your body has recovered well.” The man nodded. “Thank  you, doctor.” The doctor closed the file and looked at him again. Yes, he said with a small  smile. You’re strong again. You can return to your normal activities now. Just remember not to push yourself too hard.

The man smiled for the first time  that morning. His name was Mr. Babau. Mr. Babau was a billionaire and the owner of one of the biggest  real estate companies in the country. 6 months earlier, he had suddenly collapsed in his house  one morning. After several medical tests, the doctors discovered the cause.

He had simply worked himself too hard. Stress had pushed his body  beyond its limit. The doctor looked at him seriously. But I must still warn you, the doctor  said. Slow down a little. Your health is more important than any business. Mr. Babau  gave a quiet smile. I understand. The doctor smiled.

That is what every hardworking man says. A few minutes later, Mr. Babau stood  up and adjusted his jacket. He was finally leaving the hospital. When he stepped outside the hospital building, his driver quickly opened the car door for him. His assistant was already standing nearby. She had been waiting for him. Earlier that morning, Mr.

Barau had called her  and asked her to meet him at the hospital after his routine checkup. “Good morning,  sir,” the assistant said. Mr. Barabau nodded and stepped into the  back seat. “Good morning,” he replied. “Please get in. We have a lot  to discuss.” The assistant entered the car and soon the driver pulled away from the hospital.

As the vehicle moved into the busy streets of Port Hardcourt, the assistant opened a folder in her hands and began to speak. “Sir, the Legos’s estate project  has been completed, and the Abuja project is moving forward as planned,” she said. Mr. Barabau  listened carefully. Mr. Barau believed strongly in hard work. He was known as a kind man.

But he also  believed something else. He believed that nothing in life was free. Over the years, his success had made him think in a  certain way. He believed that when people helped others, they usually expected something in return. The car continued moving through the busy city. Mr.

Babau looked outside, but he had no idea that the hospital he had  just left was the same place where a simple cleaner had once taken a risk to save his life. A few weeks later, Adora walked slowly down a narrow street  in Port Harkort. Her face looked tired and sad. Life had  become very difficult for her since the day she was fired from the hospital.
