A priest and a nun get lost in a snowstorm

A man walks into a bar and orders a whisky.
When the bartender serves it, he goes and sits on a stool in front of the counter to  drink it.

As he was enjoying his drink, a nun passed by and glared at him. « How can you defile your soul like that with the devil’s drink? » she asked him.

The man shrugged. « It’s not the devil, it’s just whisky. »

« But it’s a sin and it’s wrong! »

« So how do you know it’s so bad? Have you ever tasted whisky? »

« Of course not! My sisters and my Mother Superior told me how bad alcohol is. »

« But how do they know? Have they had a drink already? »

They continued like this for a while before the nun finally gave in. « Well, I suppose if I tasted a little whisky, I would better understand how it corrupts the soul. But my sisters mustn’t see me drinking. Could you order me one in a teacup? »

The man thought this was reasonable and went to talk to the bartender.

« Two whiskies, but one in a teacup, please. »

The bartender slammed his hand against the counter and shouted, « Is that damned nun here again?! »

Why short jokes always feel good

We often underestimate the importance of laughter during the day. Yet, reading a short, funny story can truly change your mood. Laughter relaxes you, reduces stress, and allows you to gain perspective on the little situations of everyday life.

Simple jokes, like these, stand the test of time because they speak of universal things: life as a couple, habits, human contradictions, embarrassing or unexpected situations.

You don’t need a long story to make you smile, sometimes a few lines are enough.

Humor, a little break in the day

In a day often filled with work, responsibilities, and stress, reading a short joke may seem insignificant, but these little breaks are good for you. They remind us not to take life too seriously all the time.

Because in the end, whether it’s in a marriage, in a discussion, or in life in general, things almost never turn out exactly as we had imagined.

And that’s often why it’s funny.
