During Saturday’s service, the family’s attorney Van Turner—alongside Kohen’s parents—spoke about the importance of grieving Kohen today and then fighting for his life tomorrow.
“There’s nothing at that Walmart store that is more precious than a baby boy. There is nothing that is man-made that is so precious that you would take the life of something that is God-made and baby Kohen was God-made,” Turner shared. “He deserved to live, he deserved to go to school. He deserved to have a life full of love. He deserved to make his parents proud, as he deserved to have more than to have his life taken over some diapers.”
