I A
GREED TO MARRY A RICH MAN TO SAVE MY FAMILY BUT I DIDN’T KNOW HIS LATE WIFE STILL LIVED IN THAT HOUSE

My father owed dangerous people a huge amount of money.
Every night, men came to our house threatening to kill him if he failed to pay them back. My mother cried constantly while my younger siblings hid in fear whenever those men arrived.
Then one evening, a rich older businessman made my family an offer.
He promised to clear all the debt completely…
But only if I agreed to marry him.
I hated the idea immediately.
But after watching my father kneel and beg for his life, I sacrificed myself for my family and agreed to the marriage.
Two weeks later, I moved into my new husband’s massive mansion.
And from the very first night inside that house…
I realized something there did not want me around.
The mansion felt cold all the time.
The kind of cold that made your skin feel uncomfortable no matter how many blankets covered you.
The servants barely spoke to me, and whenever I entered certain rooms, they quickly lowered their eyes like they were hiding something.
Even my husband behaved strangely.
During the day, he treated me politely but emotionally distant, almost like I was only fulfilling a responsibility instead of being his actual wife.
At night, things became worse.
Every evening before sleeping, one servant always locked the bedroom door from the outside hallway.
At first, I thought it was for security because the property was huge and isolated.
But one night around midnight, I suddenly woke up after hearing footsteps moving slowly inside my room.
The room was dark except for moonlight entering through the curtains. For several seconds, I saw nothing.
The bedroom mirror cracked loudly by itself.
My husband woke up irritated beside me while I pointed shakily toward the broken mirror. But instead of looking shocked, his expression became strange.
Then he quietly whispered something that terrified me even more.
Before I could even ask what he meant, somebody knocked heavily against the bedroom door from outside.
My husband’s face lost color immediately.
And for the first time since marrying him…
I saw genuine fear in his eyes.
